Special Risk Insurance is generally defined as “coverage for hazards of an unusual nature” or the type of risk not ordinarily written by general insurance companies.  Red Lion acts as an insurance broker and consultant placing insurance and reinsurance. Red Lion provides custom solutions according to specific client needs.  

 

Red Lion Insurance was formed by Tim Edwards, a veteran insurance professional with years of experience in national and international markets. Edwards began his career in Canada on the underwriting side then progressed to become a broker at Lloyd’s of London specializing in hard to place business and in particular Global and US casualty business.  As a senior vice president of the worlds sixth largest insurance broker he transacted business in over half the countries in the world gaining a unique understanding of the insurance and reinsurance business. Since relocating to the USA, Tim has continued to focus on securing comprehensive insurance protection coverage not readily available in the standard market and bringing  the specialty insurance market within reach of businesses locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

The principal of Red Lion Insurance, Timothy Edwards, is a seasoned insurance and risk management professional with a pedigree gained internationally and domestically in all aspects of the insurance and reinsurance business.
As principal of Red Lion Insurance he has created a boutique insurance brokerage specializing in non-standard and specialized insurances bringing his extensive experience to bear.
Tim began his insurance career in Toronto, Canada holding underwriting positions at several dynamic insurance groups. He spent many years at Lloyd’s of London and worked the international insurance and reinsurance market brokering some of the most sophisticated and specialized lines of business. He relocated to the USA to apply his skills to large niche program business.
Today his Charlotte NC based firm, Red Lion, applies expertise, intelligence and experience to businesses large and small which have specific insurance needs that are not met by the standard US insurance carriers and their agents.
